Do you take Synthroid for your thyroid and STILL feel bad?

Some people with a low thyroid issue – Hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis – who take prescription Synthroid (Levothyroxine) STILL feel bad. Many of my patients, despite being on these synthetic medications still feel bone tired, can’t lose weight, are losing hair, are cold all the time, have dry skin, achy joints, high anxiety, sleep issues, and the list goes on. But why??

The answer could be as simple as switching to a better medicine! The medication you are taking may not be right for you. Let me explain.

Synthroid (Levothyroxine) is a synthetic form of T-4. Some people can take that synthetic T-4 and convert it to the active T-3 form. (T-3 is used in every cell of your body to produce energy and make you feel good!). BUT some people are not good “converters” – their body doesn’t easily convert the T-4 to the T-3 so they require T-4, T-3, T-2 and T-1 in their medication.

Choosing a medication that has ALL the thyroid hormones might be better for you. If you still have symptoms despite being on Synthroid, check out Naturally Desiccated Thyroid medications like Nature-throid or Armour.
